I have always been active for the majority of my life, starting at childhood. I started dance when I was just three years old and I begin competing in dance when I was eight. I competed up until the age of fifteen. Once I started high school I got into playing slow-pitch baseball on an all girls team. I have played basketball in a league before for Brier Park Girls, but I discovered I didn’t like it very much. Once I graduated from high school, I then went to Conestoga College and took the Health Office Administration program. It was a two year diploma program that I did complete but I realized it just wasn’t for me. I’m a hands on type of girl, I learn by doing. The HOA program didn’t allow me to do this and overall it was a sit still type of office job. I prefer to be moving around, up on my feet. I worked here and there for two years and worked out at the gym and at my home every day. I realized that my true passion was in the fitness industry. I have always been self cautious about what I eat and made sure to stay active. I use to only run all the time and be afraid of weight training. That has all changed. Now I lift heavy weights and I love it. I decided to take the Health, Wellness and Fitness program at Mohawk College here in Hamilton and it has been the best decision. I have made some great friendships with my fellow classmates and professors, and have met so many positive friendly faces. Having taken the HWF program, it has lead me to have the opportunity to be a part of team IDEAL!
